There is an article on PC World that compares Mac laptops to their closest Windows counterparts and comes to the conclusion that you usually pay LESS for the Mac machine. I am glad for this confirmation, as this is what I thought for a very long time. I am mostly using Macs and I AM one of those devoted Mac users that can spend hours on explaining why they love their Mac so much. But most of all I love computers and our collection of recent and historical hardware includes Macs and Windows machines alike (and a few ATARIs we bought in the 80s that we still power up now and then, not to mention the C64 I keep out of sheer nostalgia). Ever since I started using Macs I found that I usually got more for my money from Mac. Whenever we configured a Windows machine for our needs the price tag was in the end not much smaller or bigger than for the average Apple we buy. And this is without adding further benefits than less time to spend on maintenance or security problems with the Mac.
During the last few years Apple convinced many consumers of the qualities of a Macintosh computer. It is great to see that finally the oldest and most heavily rooted prejudice about Macs is finally challenged as well.
